Monsters. They're so popular in music, movies, books, and more. I've seen so many different variations of them that just make me laugh and possibly cry at how stupid and ridiculous they are. But, I'll save my true reviews of the "Monster Media" for the subjects below.
Movie~Dark Shadows: This was a good movie, but the commercials had me convinced that it was meant to be a comedy (other than the fact of another new Vampire movie was coming out which made me laugh regardless) but that whole time it sort of kept up a slightly serious tone. The Witch confused me, with her porcine-like body and undying love for the Vampire. The Werewolf looked pretty convincing, but I've never seen my best friend grow hairy, dog-like legs and glowing eyes. But alas, the Vampire was the most far fetched, in my opinion. I've never been able to control minds, not possess a reflection, burn in sunlight, sleep upside-down, or not die from leaping off of a large sea cliff, twice. It was an entertaining movie, none the less, since Johnny Depp is a wonderful actor, and I feel that they may have had to change the script a bit just to suit his character needs.
Music~Skillet: I have recently taken an interest in this bands music. It is inspiring to me an makes me want to stop what I'm doing and do what I really want to do. Their song Monster I already had known from an Animated Music Video (AMV) but I had never known the artist. As soon as I found it I fell in love with more of their songs. They seem to speak to me on a more personal, life reflecting level, and I love it. So far my playlist includes: Monster, Hero, Sometimes, and Whispers In The Dark.
